Candy.ai started as a build-your-own AI girlfriend platform and has quietly turned into something wider. Chat, voice calls, image generation, video. That part hasn’t changed. What changed in 2026 is that two entire surfaces got bolted on: Candy Shorts, a swipeable library of AI video series, and Candy Creators, licensed digital twins of real adult performers. Neither existed a year ago, and both are the reason the platform is worth re-reviewing rather than leaving on the old verdict.

The basic setup is still straightforward. You arrive, pick or build a character, and start chatting. There are 100+ pre-made characters if you don’t want to start from zero: realistic, anime, more dominant, softer personalities, whatever fits the mood. If you want something specific, the customization system is the most detailed in the category: physical appearance, voice, personality, relationship dynamic. Stuff that doesn’t exist on general-purpose AI platforms even remotely.

Candy Shorts: The Feature Everyone Is Actually Searching For

Candy Shorts is the biggest change to the platform since video generation. It’s a vertical, swipeable feed of AI-generated video series: TikTok mechanics, adult content, and characters you can open a chat with the second an episode ends.

At the time of writing the library holds 112 series. That’s not a marketing number, that’s the counter on the page itself. Each series is broken into numbered episodes rather than one long video, and per Candy’s own help docs each episode runs under two minutes, built as a pre-written scene with a beginning, middle and end.

What’s Actually In The Library

The series are scripted scenarios, not random clips. You can filter the feed two ways. By source: All, Candy Creators, Candy characters, Other characters. And by tag: New, Spicy, Stepsister, Milf, Cuckold, Nympho, Stepmom, Wife, Taboo, Fantasy, Teacher, Maid. The Milf tag alone returns 28 of the 112 series, which tells you where the content team is putting its budget.

Is Candy Shorts Free?

Partly, and the distinction matters before you sign up. Browsing the feed costs nothing. You can scroll the whole library logged out. Opening a series gets you the first episode; on Student Bodies, episode 1 shows a “Watch Episode” button while episodes 2 through 5 show “Upgrade to Unlock”. The Part Most Reviews Get Wrong

Shorts are separate from your chat history. Candy’s own documentation states it plainly: watching an episode doesn’t affect your relationship or conversation history with that character. You’re watching a produced scene, not directing one. If you came expecting the episode to feed into your companion’s memory, it doesn’t.

That’s the trade-off. Shorts is a lean-back format: you’re an audience, not a participant. The player is built for it: proper scrub bar, playback speed control, subtitle tracks, volume, fullscreen. It works. But it’s a different product from the chat, sold under the same subscription.

Candy Creators: Licensed Digital Twins, Not Lookalikes

Candy Creators is the second new surface, and it’s the one with actual legal substance behind it. These are digital twins of real adult performers, built, in Candy’s wording, “in direct partnership with and with the full consent of the creator.” The original three were Sophie Dee, Mia Malkova and Renae Erica.

The roster has since grown to ten, listed with their real follower counts: Sophie Dee (12.2M), Mia Malkova (11.6M), Celine (3.2M), Riley Reid (3M), Brianna Howe (600K), Ava Starz (450K), Abigail Lutz (400K), Jane Mautin (330K), Renae Erica (118K), and Bonnie Blue.

Each twin is a chat companion with its own unlockable content. Eight of the 112 Shorts series feature Creators rather than Candy’s in-house characters: Professor Mia, My Step-Sister’s Dormitory, Under Her Watch and Private Lessons among them.

Candy Creator Cams is announced but not shipped: the page reads “Your favorite creators will go live on camera here.” Treat it as roadmap, not a feature you’re paying for today.

The consent angle is worth flagging because this category is full of platforms doing unlicensed celebrity impersonation. Candy went the other way and signed the performers. Whether you find AI twins of real people appealing is personal taste; the licensing is at least on record.

Chat Quality

The conversation quality is still the strongest part of the core product. None of those robotic pre-packaged responses that remind you every 30 seconds you’re talking to software: tone shifts naturally, follows the rhythm of the conversation, escalates if you want it to. I tested scenarios that would trigger an instant block on other platforms and nothing happened here, conversation just… continued. No awkward rephrasings, no “I can’t help with that” interruptions mid-scene.

Candy Roulette: spontaneous video chat that matches you with a random AI character, Chatroulette-style. You can skip, request actions, and turn your own camera on. Characters can skip you too if you’re rude. It costs 5 tokens per minute, which is the clearest per-unit price on the platform and adds up fast.

Live Action: Premium-only, token-gated interactive video with an action menu. Available on select characters only (Irina, Luna, Katarina, Olivia, Isabella, Elodie, Mila, Emilia, DarkAngel666; look for the joystick icon), and mobile only at the moment. Some actions are free, some cost tokens.

The Token System: Read This Before Subscribing

Here’s the part that changes the full picture, and Shorts made it more important, not less. The subscription alone isn’t enough. Premium includes 100 tokens per month, which sounds like plenty until you realise a single image costs 2-4 tokens, Candy Roulette burns 5 tokens a minute, certain NSFW content unlocks run 100-400 tokens in one shot, and Shorts episodes are video, the most expensive output on the platform.

Token packs range from $9.99 for 100 tokens to $299.99 for 3,750. Cost per token drops slightly on larger packs but stays relevant regardless. Realistic monthly spend for active users lands between $25 and $60 once you add tokens on top of the base subscription. If Candy Shorts is your main reason for joining, assume the high end of that range.
